Farnham Walker: St Swithin's Way Pt.1

Part 1 of our pilgrimage to Winchester, taking in the route from Guildford to Farnham
Every Tuesday across the four weeks of Guildford Walkfest we will follow a section of the North Downs Way or St Swithin's Way on our journey from the Cathedral town of Guildford to Winchester Please feel free to join us on this section and any others you fancy. There is no requirement to complete all four parts.
This stage is a lovely walk along the North Downs Way from Guildford to Farnham. The walk encompasses some of the best the Downs have to offer, including George Watts' home at Compton, the village of Puttenham and some glorious Surrey countryside.
Time: Start 10.00 promptly please. We aim to finish around 16.00 at Farnham Station

Travel Note: Please note that this is a linear walk, we will not be returning to Guildford. There are frequent bus and train links back for those who need public transport to return.
Length of walk: 12 miles
General Notes: Please bring a packed lunch and adequate drinks. Strong shoes or walking boots are needed as the paths can be muddy and uneven. Although not too hilly, this is a long walk and participants are expected to have an adequate level of fitness. In the event of bad weather, adequate wet weather gear is needed.
