
Walkfest Launch and Walk from The Hive
Join us for the launch of Guildford Walkfest 2023 in the presence of the Mayor of Guildford followed by a circular walk towards Manor Farm and Broadstreet Common

Description of walk: Following the official launch activities, the walk will commence at 11am.
As David Rose leads this walk he will be giving details of Guildford's medieval royal deer park while passing the site of a royal hunting lodge of which parts of its moat remain. He will indicate the site where in 1952 a US Army Airforce F-86A Sabre aircraft crashed after a mid-air collision at 24,000ft with a RAF Meteor F8 aircraft during a military exercise and give details of the Roman farmstead that was on Broadstreet Common

Length of Walk: Full route - 3.9 miles (6 kms), Short flat loop – 1 mile (1.6 km) approx
