NOTE: This is the Middle carpark not the Top carpark. Strangely, this is shown on Google Maps as the Lower carpark although the signage at the site confirms it as Middle carpark. The references below are to the correct location.

Description of Walk: Join Surrey Hills Society Chairman, Gordon Jackson, for a walk that explores some of the woods and heathland of Puttenham Common, which is owned by the Hampton Estate. The Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is rich with bird and insect life. It is also of archaeological interest. There is a hill fort at Hillbury which is a Scheduled Monument, probably dating back to the Iron Age. We will walk up to the highest point of the Common, where we will see the site of the fort and enjoy the excellent views.
Dogs: Well behaved dogs on leads welcome
Length of walk: 5.24 kms and involves a total ascent of 111 metres. It will take about 1hr 45 minutes and is classed as moderate.
