Any travel advice: Free parking available at Birtley Courtyard (please share cars if permissible). There is no Sunday service of buses along Horsham Road; Shalford rail station is approx. 4Km north via Horsham Road.
Description of walk: A circular walk, fully segregated from motor traffic, beginning and ending at Birtley Courtyard. The route includes part of the alignment of the former Guildford-Horsham railway line (Downs Link Path) and canal towpath recently upgraded by the Wey & Arun Canal Trust (WACT). This latter section is not a right-of-way, but WACT offers it as a permissive path.
Any specific walk / conditions issues: As the route is largely on bridleway, towpath & cycleway, walking boots or stout walking shoes are advised.
Well-behaved dogs on leads welcome.
