Come and explore some hidden sites and buildings in and around the historic village of Shalford with the Surrey Hills Society.

Any travel advice: Guildford is well served with both bus and rail connections and the Yvonne Arnaud theatre is close to the town centre, just past the old Debenhams building.

Description of walk: This flat, relatively easy two hour walk takes in the historic village of Shalford. Join the Chairman of Walkfest and Surrey Hills Society colleagues on this special walk, as part of Heritage Open Day weekend, taking in several historic building along the way, including rare access to Shalford’s Gothic style Chapel of Rest, the National Trust Mill and St Marys Church before returning to Guildford at lunchtime. 

​Any specific walk / conditions issues:  This is a relatively flat walk along the Wey canal to Shalford with no stiles.

Dogs allowed / not allowed?  Dogs on leads allowed.

Length of Walk:  5 mile (8km)
