Get Active - Scrub Bash at Riverside Nature Reserve
Help us to restore valuable Warbler habitat by removing Willow scrub in the fen (boardwalk) at Riverside Nature Reserve. We will be using loppers and bowsaws to cut down Willow, which we will burn on a bonfire. No matter what the weather it will be a fun day out.
Time: 10am to 2pm.
Meet: Riverside Nature Reserve, by the lake at the entrance to the boardwalk – look out for the white Landrover. Parking: (1) Bowers Lane, Burpham GU4 7ND or (2) Spectrum Leisure Centre GU1 1UP walk through Thorneycroft Wood, under A3 and into Riverside Nature Reserve
This educational activity will involve removing overgrown shrub, which will help the birds and other wildlife. Tools and gloves will be provided. Wear stout clothes and waterproofs if wet. Tea/coffee will be provided. Bring a packed lunch. Suitable for all over the age of 16.
