Welcome to our Guildford Walkfest Blog for 2021

Yes, we are determined that Walkfest will take place again this year. Our plan is for the festival to last all through September – with a target of at least one walk every day (and, hopefully, more).

We welcome back our usual organisations – including Surrey Hills Society, Guildford Ramblers, Guildford Town Guides, plus many more individuals and local groups. We are also pleased to announce that, subject to national policy regarding Covid, we will be welcoming back RSPB and other groups who had to miss last year’s festival.

Another treat to look forward to is the walk (or possibly walks) led by local historian David Rose who has had a phenomenal following for his walks in previous years. David is also heavily involved with The Guildford Dragon – our local online newspaper – who generously act as our media partner.

Guildford Walkfest could not take place without the ongoing support of our primary sponsor, Bevan Wilson Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinics, who will, again, be joining us for the 2021 season.

We’ve started making plans whilst watching the gradual unwinding of Covid restrictions. We are confident that, based on the processes and controls which we implemented for 2020, we will be able to put on another brilliant, varied – and above all – safe Walkfest for you all to enjoy.

Over the coming months, our plans will become firmer and we will update you from time to time via this Blog – so keep checking us out!

Mark your diaries now for a wonderful few weeks of walks in and around Guildford Borough, 1st – 30th September 2021.
