We’ve launched the 2019 Guildford Walking Festival Brochure!

This week, the Mayor of Guildford launched the brochure giving details of many of the walks in this year’s Guildford Walking Festival which will take place throughout September.

At a small ceremony hosted by the Mandolay Hotel, the Mayor highlighted the importance of the festival in helping local residents to get out into the fresh air for a little bit of gentle exercise whilst enjoying and learning about the wonderful history and countryside with which the borough is blessed.

There are walks and strolls for everyone – whether you are taking your first cautious steps as a walker and want a short easy walk with like-minded people or are a regular walker who wants more than just exercise and enjoys getting out into the depths of our beautiful landscapes.

With at least one walk scheduled for each day of September and a good mix of topics and lengths, there really is a great variety to select from.  And the added bonus is that, for most walks, you don’t even have to book in advance.

Our brochure can give you a taste of the main walks programme which has already been confirmed for the month but we know that there will be more to come.  So to keep up to date and to discover more information about each of the scheduled events, please keep checking our dedicated website www.guildfordwalkfest.co.uk

Over the coming days and weeks, our brochure will appear in many shops and other outlets in Guildford and around the Borough. It can also be obtained from the Tourist Information Office in Guildford High Street and the Council Offices at Millmead.  Make sure you pick up your copy and check out which walks you would like to join during September.

We hope you will have a lovely time exploring the towns, villages and beautiful countryside of Guildford Borough, and remember….Keep Healthy, Keep Walking!
